Making Bon appetites red wine braised beef short ribs and forgot to have butcher cut ribs into 2 1/2 in cross sections

Does that mean I need 2 cook twice as long?

You may have to cook them a bit longer to get the centers tender, but your best bet would be to cut them down a little bit, you don't have to get them to 2 1/2 in, but of you cut them down just a little you will save your self lots of extra time and effort when you serve and eat them.
