I'm not sure if you mean a sweet or a savory potato cake; it's usual here to use left-over boiled or mashed potatos, mixed with milk, egg, flour, salt and pepper into a thick batter, and fried on a hot griddle. They're a good accompaniment with lots of vegetable and meat dishes.
