Your favorite comfort food dish for a rainy day?

Braised short ribs over noodles!

It's seasonal for me - roast chicken in the winter, and grilled corn on the cob in the summer.

Any homemade soup. (not from a tin can)

Gumbo!

COLD rainy day - roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies
WARM rainy day - stuff that we can dash out and grill in the rain - grilled tacos, cold beer, etc

Chili, chicken soup, beef stew ...

Chicken Soup with Matzo Balls is my #1 comfort food. but the soup has to be home made -- preferably Grandma's recipe. ;)

Beef Pho!

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with Brown Butter and Sage and a loaf of cracked wheat bread. The aroma of bread baking on a rainy day I find particularly comforting.

Soup of almost any kind, but especially something with cannellini beans in it. And a side of cornbread or biscuits.

I like a big bowl of Asian chicken soup!

As MD BBQ says, chili would be just the thing. There was a chili contest recently on the site with many excellent recipes!

A hot bowl of chili always warms me up on a rainy day. There are a few pre-made spice mixes available at the store which don't require hours of cooking in a crock pot.
