PS - as the name would suggest, it's Syrian in origin.

Oooh! It's delicious. Resembles red chilli flakes in appearance but much, much milder and has a vaguely lemony tang.
You can find it in Middle Eastern shops, or at Penzeys or World Spice Market:

A decent substitute would be sumac (also available at Middle Eastern shops).
