How can I tell if my gnocchi has gone bad. It is floating before it is cooked, Is it off?

Was it store bought gnocchi? If so, perhaps you have a cooked variety that only needs reheating.

I haven't made Gnocchi but when cooking my homemade meat filled ravioli, with the salted water boiling they will rise but need to gently boil till done. Like all pasta, homemade or otherwise, taste for doneness.
