Pizza Stones: What do you know about Cordierite -- a fire brick material which purportedly tolerates extremely high heat. ;o)

But is it durable? My current one cracked rather soon after I bought it. I need a large rectangle, and prefer it to be perfectly flat, i.e., no handles or edges. Thanks, everyone. ;o)
