arrghh.... I left some REALLy expensive bacon out overnight. Being cured meat-stuff is it safe to eat or does it become my regret?

drbabs, ChefJune and irina -- You are so kind in watching out for my well-being... Lesson learned. Having recently suffered through food poisoning (an unnamed restaurant at an unnamed airport) while travelling I do not want to risk any upset.

Yes, do not eat! Toss it. Not even a BLT.
When in doubt, throw it out!
cheers

I feel your pain. however it's certainly not worth the risk of Salmonella! Give it a quick toss and promise yourself never to do that again. ;-)

Oh, I'm so sorry. I went to the USA website for you to find out, and if it's not dry cured, it can harbor salmonella and has to be refrigerated.

OK. I read the package.. duh and it is not cured bacon and I will heed all the warnings, learn my lesson and have a BLT tomorrow instead. Hate when that happens. It means life is too busy and I should chillax a bit...
