Can I substitute red pepper flakes for dried chilies

I want to make homemade fireball whiskey and it calls for several died chili peppers. I don't have any and I want to know if I can substitute Red pepper flakes for the chili peppers.

That should work just as well. I would just strain them out before serving your drinks.

Thank you, I had a feeling it probably would work but I wasn't sure if it would be a different flavor than the Chili's.
