I have a bottle of outdated olive oil unopened. Can it be used in cooking?

Any rancid oil is distinctive. It will put you off your feed almost forever.

As long as it's not rancid you can use it. Smell it- if it smells like crayons it's rancid. If you're not sure, taste a tiny bit.
