A recipe from South Africa calls for 6 x 250 ml cake flour and 9 x 5 baking powder do I just multiply to get the correct amount? 1500 ml cake four?

last note from me on this. saw one south african recipe that called for 6 cups (240g each) all bran flakes. Of course cereal is much lighter than flour. Wonder if the measures were mixed up. (That recipe also had 1 kg of flour.)

Sorry, I made an error. I think the 1500 ml of flour might be more than 5 cups, closer to 12.
Looked at a few recipes for all bran rusks, including one from South Africa, using same 500 ml buttermilk & 500g butter, all called for about 1 kg (8 cups) flour vs your 1.5 kg. All were for substantial yields - 2 kg, 7 to 8 dozen, or 25-30. Guess it depends on how you cut them.
Maybe your 6x250 ml was an error. Do you have access to another version of the recipe to check?
If not, try one of these:

Your instincts were right...1500 ml is a lot of flour.

I have used the conversion table. The recipe is for all bran rusks. ( similar to biscotti) 500 ml buttermilk, 500 g butter, 6 x 250 ml cake flour, 375 ml sugar, 375 all bran flakes, 9 x 5 ml baking powder, vanilla. Is this going to make a huge amount? And does 6 x 250 ml cake flour make sense that it would be 1500 ml?

Sounds like a huge cake. That's about 5 cups of flour and 3 tbsp b powder.
see these two sites for formulas converting cake flour ml to grams, and for how many grams in 1 cup of cake flour.
