Grated ginger root, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil and thicken with cornstarch or arrowroot.
All of the above sound great, I'd add "and/or lemon juice, sliced almonds, orange segments, bean sprouts, cilantro, tofu, red pepper..."
... mushrooms, water chestnuts, soy beans...
Add a little tamarind too. It gives it a nice sweet/tangy kick.
my vote is for ginger, jalapeno, fresh basil, lime juice, & a little sugar
