my turkey is purple! Darker than appears in photo. Mainly appears around the outer parts. Cooked many turkeys, never saw one like this!

I've had a turkey like this before! We cooked and ate and all was well. If you're concerned, I'd call the company who you bought the turkey from and ask them about it!

It could be the breed of the bird. Where did you buy it?

Did you post a photo here? I'm not seeing it! Would be very helpful to us seeing what you're dealing with.

Purpling could be a result of blood, or, this has been known to happen in younger turkeys that haven't been able to develop a good layer of fat quite yet. If it smells okay, and all precautions were taken with the cooling and/or defrosting of your bird, you should be okay.
