Sure, but be aware that all of the dough in the mixer will have the same tint.
If you follow the recipe's instruction and add the coloring (in varying amounts) to various separate batches of dough, you will get a variety of candies with different tints (as illustrated in the photograph).
If you don't care about that, add all the food coloring to the dough in the mixer and enjoy your monochrome batch.
