Cuisinart blade recall -- any information re. Replacement?
I'm going through food processor withdrawal. Any word on when replacement blades will be sent? Also thinking about switching brands. Any advice on better options?

i just gave in and purchased a kitchenaid food processor.
Kind of feels like a scam to me. Desperate people who cook a lot and use the unit often are scared to use their old Cuisinart with its most-used blade. So they go looking for a new blade. Can't find it? Well, can't wait either, they need it. Go buy a whole new Cuisinart! Miraculously, those already are fully equipped with "safe" blades. Hmmm.... $$$ in the pocket of guess who? Tidy trick! Sounds like a good class-action lawsuit waiting to happen... Got mine from Costco. Still have not received it. Very unhappy with this nonsense.
I am still using my food processor. I saw no cracks in the blade and it is close to 20 years old. I actually see no reason to look at replacements - Cuisinart had a manufacturing issue - they are dealing with it - it could happen to any company and frequently does.
P.S. - Thanks for providing that toll-free number here Xinae.
Not much in the way of encouragement there, but at least I can complain if I still don't have a replacement blade once June has come and gone.
[I am still using my 25-yr old original blade though, with no problems. Mine is so old the blades were still being made in Japan. Apparently the problematic versions were Chinese made.]

Yeah that doesn't inspire much confidence that I'll be getting my replacement blade any time soon.

I just got an email from them saying I will get an email from them when my replacement blade is ready (sounds like no time soon, since the blades are "precision instruments" which take a while to make), and offering a download of recipes for me and fellow sufferers in compensation. I'm opting for patience for the moment. Wish the old blades had been more carefully made "precision instruments." I may eventually research the Breville. Again, thanks for the advice.
