need a sub for okra making ottolenghi soft shell crab dish which calls for okra side

hmmm, looking for something a little more edgy to fit ottolenghi style cooking - I found an apple, cucumber and kohlrabi slaw that looks perfect.

What about zucchini?

Maybe fried pickles, a cole slaw, yucca fries, hushpuppies....most any seafood place type side dish would work.
