I used to work for this wonderful Judge - his grandmother was from Kentucky and she used to make him this layered caramel cake. As he describes it, the caramel would sort of soak into the cake or drip into it - not sure if it was a "poke cake" or just saturated. I have never found anything that met this description. I'd love to be able to make it for him for an upcoming birthday as a surprise. Please share with me anything you have that might come close :).
