Can I freeze soup or chowder that has milk, cream and/or potatoes?

I would like to make chicken and corn chowder to have over the winter.

You might have better luck if you made a chicken/corn base and froze that. Would not take too long to finish it off with potatoes, seasoning and dairy when it came time to eat it.
