You really think so? Asparagus seems to be such a unique flavor. It is absolutely my favorite vegetable but I am not sure I see it as contributing to a stock for general use. Asparagus soup is a different matter as it is all about the asparagus.
If your uncooked asparagus is floppy it is past prime, fresh asparagus is crisp, the bottom of the stalks should snap off. Floppy or not, soup as already mentioned is probably the best use.
