Trying to find a substitute for flour for an apple crisp other than almond flour. Is coconut flour a possibility? Is it a one for one substitution?

I've used a mix of brown rice flour and almond flour to sub for whole wheat flour. It worked great, so I never tried either one alone.

You can also grind up some regular oats; toast them a bit first for more flavor. (You can do it in a skillet, or in the oven as it's heating to bake the crisp.) I'd throw in a few toasted flax seeds as well, for flavor. ;o)

Coconut flour is very high fiber and absorbs a lot of liquid - so you’ll need more wet ingredients, but it will taste great!

Are you substituting flour in the streusel or in the crust? I'm thinking oat flour might be an option too.
