Hi there - can you recommend recipes for arthritis sufferers? I am starting to look eliminating nightshades - could this be a new category perhaps?

Turmeric and ginger are both great for this. Anti-inflamatory and helps with knees. I add one or other (or both) to tea.

I throw a teaspoon or more of cinnamon in my smoothies in the morning. There are numerous articles online that mention cinnamon as alleviating pain from arthritis.

Eliminating tomatoes from my diet? Not going to happen even if I limp a bit because of my bad knees.

Had no idea sour cherries were helpful for arthritis - though given my knees, I probably should - but I can rec Sour Cherry Soup, as my Hungarian grandmother made. This 'reads' similar to her recipe, from Joan Nathan, who's very dependable - though my grandmother served it cold in the summer: http://joannathan.com/cold-sour-cherry-soup/ Tarragon or dill also work well. (Looks pretty anemic in the photo - much prettier in person.)

Many blogs and websites already focus on these recipes.
Maybe do a search and see if they are what you want.

Cherry pie (we always start with dessert)- sour cherries, if you can find any, are said to be quite helpful; don't remember the significant chemical, however.

Thanks for dessert, love a sour cherry and didn't know about that. Would Food52 consider running a competition for this = Non Nightshade Recipes - could be popular?

You're welcome- cooks just wanna have fun, and a question like that is bound to land you a lot of raw shredded kale and stinging nettles boiled in wheat grass juice and that sort of stuff.
