Can i soak aubergine for a longer time? (13-15 hours)

i already peeled it and put it in saltwater but now need to go out of town, is this possible or will it go bad? can i save it somehow? i'm in sweden and its 7pm and ill be back in the morning - before lunch tomorrow. Don't have time to cook it.

I don't usually soak aubergine in saltwater, to draw out the bitterness (which is what I am assuming you are doing). I'll salt them and let them drain (in a sieve/colander) for a few hours to overnight. Then proceed with my recipe. Hope this helps.
