A question about a recipe: Sugar Cookie Bars

I have a question about the recipe "Sugar Cookie Bars" from Grant Melton. Can these be made ahead and cut and stacked into a tin? I have a feeling the icing would smudge and they would have to remain refrgerated since made with butter & cream cheese...

You have answered your own question.
But if you need to package and stack them, do so without the frosting.
Separately, make and refrigerate the frosting.
Then, when you intend to serve, bring to room temp, ice and present the cookies.
