If I use store-bought pesto, how much should I use?

The recipe says "a spoonful" and judging by all of the photographs, about a tablespoon, more or less.

Extreme precision isn't necessary in this instance. It's a garnish. If you want put some extra pesto in a small dish so your table guests can add more if they like.

I made the pesto according to the recipe amounts and it doesn’t make very much. You don’t need very much for the soup. Just a spoonful per bowl is enough.
