Use cooked sweet potatoes instead of raw?

I've made these before in mini-muffin tins. Delicious, but cutting the sweet potato into pieces to fit the tins was time consuming. So I'm looking for a quicker prep. Pretty sure this will work, but I wanted to know if anyone has used baked sweet potato slices or a mash instead of the raw slices?

What if you grated the raw sweet potatoes and use a small layer in place of the whole pieces?

This sounds like a great solution, and an easy way to make sure the potato can cook evenly

Two ways to go.
Use a machine to rough chop the sweet potatoes so they can turn on mini muffin tins. Processor or blender (chop with some water, drain before adding to recipe).
Or use cooked sweet potatoes, but maybe reduce liquid added and/or cooking time.
