I am allergic to soy. Any recommendations for tofu substitute?

I understand you can use coconut aminos in place of soy sauce. It is vegan friendly as well. Good for people with allergies. Check it out.

Try paneer or a mild feta if you eat dairy.

There are many recipes out there for chickpea 'tofu'. That might be something to consider.

For omnivore diet, use a cooked unseasoned (because there's a lot if seasoning already in the dish) chicken, whitefish or scrambled eggs.

I think you could omit it entirely add more black beans - there's enough going on in these that the tofu won't be missed. But you could always add something like crumbled seitan sausage, or if you're up for a longer project make chickpea tofu (it's not something I've seen in stores): https://food52.com/blog/19123-did-you-know-chickpea-flour-could-do-this

I am extremely allergic to soy as well. Mushrooms of any and all kinds are my favorite substitute.
