Please clarify the amount of condensed milk that should be used.

In the video, there is a full discussion about the amount of sweetened condensed milk in the recipe. The original recipe in the published book calls for one cup (8oz) yet the author states she made a mistake and had actually been using a full can (14oz). In the video they use what looks like the full can. However, in the accompanying Food52 recipe, the amount of sweetened condensed milk is 3/4.

So... is it one cup (8oz), one can (14oz) or 3/4 cup (6oz)?

Thanks!

Barry

Hi Barry, sorry if the video confused things! I can explain. The recipe that's on Food52 and in the Genius Desserts cookbook is the version that I fell in love with (through a miscommunication), which uses 3/4 cup of condensed milk. Danielle's original version uses up the whole 14-ounce can, so it's slightly sweeter and stickier. Both are great! Your call.

Hi Barry, thanks for this question! The recipe is excerpted from the book, hence why both call for 3/4 cup.

I'd instead go with the full can. Hope this clears things up!
