If I bake a cauliflower casserole long enough, can I skip pre-cooking the cauliflower?
I'm going to make a cauliflower casserole and I was wondering what would happen, if instead of steaming the cut cauliflower first, I'd put it in the casserole and bake it longer. Will this work?
(surely I'm not the first lazy person to wonder this ;-))

I washed and cut the cauliflower into the smallest florets, put them in the mixture without pre-cooking, and then baked the casserole for an extra 20 minutes.
Came out fine. Might have worked with even less baking.
