While making Turkey stock the turkey wasn't fully submerged. I I turned off the stove and covered with a lid. It sat for 8 or 9 hours. Is it safe?

While I would cringe at the idea of sacrificing so much poultry, I would not feel safe feeding it to my loved ones or eating it myself. The guidance for food safety says that cooked chicken should not sit at room temperature for more than 2 hours. I'd assume a turkey would fall into the same risk category.
