Recipe Conversion Query about Teaspoons with Cups

If a recipe calls for 1/2 teaspoon of water for 1/2 cup of dry mix, does that mean that, if I use 1/3 cup of dry mix, I need to use 1/3 teaspoon of water for it? I'm just not sure if converting the recipe for 1/3 cup of mixture is really that simple or not. Thank you.

It's not really a matter of converting fractions, as it is maintaining ratios. In your case, it's a 1:1 ratio- so your idea of 1/3 cup mix and 1/3 teaspoon water will work. The trick is finding a 1/3 teaspoon measuring spoon. Although they do exist, they are scarce to find.

3 x 1/8 tsp will come close to 1/3 tsp.
Or many tsp seasonings weigh 5g, so a scale reading 1.67g will do.
