Hi Settie! While the community member who published the recipe would definitely know best here, based on the other ingredients in this recipe, I'd recommend adding a teaspoon of espresso powder. That should be enough to give the cake a bit of a deep, earthy kick without overpowering the rest of the spices. In my mind, you should not be able to identify the coffee flavor when you taste the cake, but just a roasty-toasty undertone. Hope this helps!
