Keebler cracker treats with almoalmonds

Why did the glaze on my keebler cracker treats not come out shinny glossy and hard after baking? Did I use to much butter and sugar? I used a 11x 17 pan lined with crackers and used 2 sticks of butter and one cup of sugar. Boiled for 2-3 minutes like it said. Baked for 10-15 min.
