Helen, if you scroll down into Nami’s post for her version on Just One Cookbook, you’ll see that she actually credits Food52 and links to THIS recipe as an inspiration for hers. The JOC recipe was published in November 2021 and this recipe has comments dating back to 2019. It’s always a good idea to get your facts straight before accusing anyone of being a “sad” copycat.

In the headnote, the author traces the lineage of her recipe to the Foodgeeks version (published in 2004) which precedes the Just One Cookbook version by 17 years.

This is a party mix so it is probable that there are multiple versions as individual cooks have customized to their liking. If you type in "furikake chex mix" into an Internet search engine, these aren't the only two versions online.

For sure, the Food52 version is not a copy-and-paste clone of either the Foodgeeks or JOC version.

In my mind, the author has provided sufficient credit to its inspiration while it remains an original interpretation.
