Yeast discrepancy amount 2-1/4 teaspoons or 1-Tablespoon?

The ingredients list calls for 1-package of yeast which is 2-1/4 teaspoons by volume. However, the instructions ask you to mix a whole Tablespoon of yeast with a Tablespoonful of sugar and the water. Can you please clarify this contradiction? Thanks. 😊

Too bad there's a discrepancy in the recipe.
Checked with a reference recipe (Escoffier cooking school) where their doughnut recipe uses only 1 envelope (2.25 tsp) for 4.5 cups flour.
So you could use either the 1 envelope (for basic raising) or the 1 tbsp (for faster raising).

PS
Yeast is an ingredient that doesn’t have to be exact in measure - as I said, minimum amount will work, the slightly greater 1 tbsp will work a little faster and you could even use more for when you want to speed up the rising time.
On yeast, the two things you need to be sure or careful of are
1) the water temperature (warm but not boiling, which will kill the yeast);
2) whether it’s alive, before you add the remaining recipe ingredients.
