This discoloration is permanent. If removing the stains was possible antique shops would have tons of vintage enamelware in pristine condition.

There is no practical way to fix scratches and chips on enamel cookware. The only way to do this is to basically sandblast the old coating off, apply a new coating and throw it into a kiln. There are people who can do this but their fees would charge would be substantial, likely far more than the replacement cost of a similar piece of enamelware.

Remember that this is not bonding any old glass powder to cast iron. The replacement materials need to be food safe.

You are free to search the Internet for services that do enamelware cookware repair and ask them for a price quote. Don't forget to factor in the cost of shipping.

Best of luck.

Thank you 702551 for your answer. I figured the inside would never resemble new ever again, just very, very disappointed. Thankfully, this wasn't a $$$ Le Creuset casserole. Years of cooking in rugged Revere stainless steel have spoiled me I'm afraid.

Following with great interest! My Cuisinart enamel casserole likewise is black on the bottom inside with lots of scratches. Nothing I have found will bring it back any semblance of white. Cooks fine. Probably didn't help that I made 2 batches of blackberry jam in it early on, but I didn't know you shouldn't cook jam in an enamel pot.
