Make Ahead Tips - Can these be made a day in advance? And if so, should I refrigerate them or are they best left at room temperature overnight?

I’m planning on serving them with homemade vanilla ice cream.

They can also be frozen. With just 2 of us here, a pan of these is just too much of a good thing! I cut them into serving size pieces, slip 2 into a zip-top bag and freeze. They don't take long to thaw and although may have lost s bit of that crumble crunch, they are still delicious!

You could make them a day ahead, yes. They can be left loosely covered to be eaten the next day, and will be fine. More than that though, you should store it in the fridge. You could of course chill it until serving time, but that will make the crumble soften and lose the crunch factor folks like in a crumble topping. As long as a pie doesn't contain dairy, you can leave it at room temp for a day or so, covered. After that it can become a mold risk.
