Can I Replace butter with oil?

I am dying to try this recipe and some of my family members cannot have butter…could I replace the butter with oil and if so…would be a 1:1 replacement? Also…how would that impact the texture? Thank you!

Oil will change the texture of most baked goods. (moister/ denser) Butter adds structure.
You can also sub unsweetened applesauce 1:1

One stick of butter is equivalent to ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons of olive oil:

In general, you can substitute 3/4 of the butter in a recipe with olive oil. For example, if a recipe calls for one stick of butter (8 tablespoons), you can use 6 tablespoons of olive oil.

I have never made this recipe but with over three decades of baking experience my natural instinct would be to try substituting the butter with vegetable shortening rather than reach for a liquid fat.

After all I have used butter, shortening, or lard in pie crusts interchangeably and have done so on many occasions.

Anyhow best of luck.

Thank you for this insight. I’ll post if I give that a try as well.
