A question about a recipe: Tender Yellow Cake

I have a question about step 6 on the recipe "Tender Yellow Cake" from sdebrango. It says:

"Fold in egg whites and distribute into the baking pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool for 10-20 minutes in the pan then turn out onto cake rack to cool completely."

Thanks for this amazing recipe! I will try it out this weekend! I had two questions though: what do you mean by "fold in egg whites" :-P Sorry! I'm very new to baking! And, can I just pour it entirely into one baking dish, since I don't want to frost it?

I did do ur recipe replacing the cake flour with all purpose flour using the formula as per my prior comments. This is the best cake ever!!!! A cross between a yellow cakemix and chiffon cake. Thanks for sharing. I filled and frosted it with a strawberry cream cloud recipe. Ultra light and moist whether it s left outside (with ie buttercream) or in fridge (with ie whipped cream based frosting). I also added some lime zest (about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp). The possibilities are endless. Thanks for sharing!

I just made it and used 3 eggs instead of 2 I will let you know. Came out of the oven a little while ago and it looks great. If the texture and all is good I am going to change the recipe to 3 eggs. Good luck and please let me know how it goes.

Also you will have to adjust the baking time if you are doing in one pan, in 2 pans it takes 30 minutes I check on the cakes after 25 minures. Although I have never done this recipe in one pan I would guess that it would take 40-45 minutes to bake you should start checking the cake at 40 minutes. Everyones oven is different some hotter than others and you don't want a cake that is over baked. You can insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean the cake is done.

I found this on you tube its easier than explaining and the visual will help Its not the same recipe but shows you what I mean by folding in egg whites:

I whip the egg whites before I make the rest of the batter let them sit and when the other part of the recipe is made you fold the egg whites in. Be careful, do it gently just like the girl in the video is doing and you will have wonderful results. You will be making one layer in a round or rectangular baking pan? Thats fine you don't have to use 2 baking pans just make sure that your pan is large enough the cake rises quite a bit so you should not fill the pan to the top leave anout 1 1/2 or 2 inches Please let me know how it turns out. Also let me know if you cannot open the link. Good luck.
