Mom's Blueberry-Coconut Muffins

I've just made a double batch of these muffins and my batter was very, very thick. Is this normal? They taste just ok, the kids ate them (they were starving!). I feel that I did something wrong... The batter was so weird, almost like a wet bread dough.

I'm not familiar with this particular recipe, but some muffin batters are thick, it's not out of the ordinary.
