A question about a recipe: Corn Salad with Cilantro & Caramelized Onions

I have a question about the ingredient "ears of fresh corn" on the recipe "Corn Salad with Cilantro & Caramelized Onions" from Ms. T.
What if you cannot find fresh corn ears? Can you use canned corn?

Agree with hla, frozen best. Try for organic if you can.

Frozen would be a decent substitute. Canned would not work well.
