A question about a recipe: Borrachos

I have a question about the ingredient "uncured slab bacon, cut into ¼ to ½ inch cubes" on the recipe "Borrachos" from lastnightsdinner. can I use pancetta to substitute for the bacon?

I second the motion! Pancetta will be fine. I bet tasso ham would be good, too.
