Author Notes

Every now and then someone declares that The End of the World is about to happen and I take it as an opportunity to bake a pie. You know, just in case…

Ingredients
  • 4 parts Jim Beam White, or whatever you prefer
  • Juice of 1 lemon, or more or less depending on size or taste

  • ice, both for shaking and for the glass
  • lemon peel to garnish
Directions
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Add the Jim Beam, lemon juice, and jaggery and shake it like it’s the End of the World.

Someone once said, "the wise man knows that he knows nothing at all." Therefore if I spend my days seeking knowledge than I am simply trying to be a better fool. Hopefully I will eat well along the way.

Or perhaps we have the makings of a Food52 Meet-Up theme? Frankly I can't think of a better way to spend Armageddon than with a bunch of fellow foodies, lobster, pie and whiskey.
