As Bevi's partner in crime on the Stalking Pacino escapade, I must add that she more than did this drink justice. She did neglect to mention the decor at Camine's: vertical striped wall paper of metallic machine guns, plus leather couches, furry pillows and white leather highhhhback chairs--plus plenty of mirrors. Lord knows we were looking really good in those mirrors after drink number two!

Oh, this is lovely! When my husband and I were first engaged, we wanted the prospective in-laws to meet for the first time. We brought to the Polo (NY, not LA) bar at the Westchester Hotel. Suddenly the waiter rushed over to us in great excitement, and, in a loud-ish whisper announced "Al Pacino is coming!" My parents, who'd long ago given up on going out to the movies and never recognize celebrities, looked at each other and responded, equally loudly "who's Al Pacino?" We still laugh at the memory. I think I ought to stir a couple of these up for our anniversary.

Bevi, this is terrific. I love cucumber and lime in drinks. Now I must ask you- i have never had gin (and have this sense that i wouldn't like it); all my drinks are vodka or tequila based. I'm guessing the answer is yes, but do you think this would translate well from gin to vodka? thx so much.

My guess is yes on vodka. Please try it and let me know! When it comes to boozy drinks, my experience is people are very particular about ratios according to their taste preferences, and the additional ratio of soda or water. Thanks!

Yum! This sounds like a perfect drink to have after a hard day of work.
