Author Notes

A little avocado goes a long way in a smoothy, lending a pillowy, silky smooth texture that words can't really do justice to. Try it for yourself, and see if you don't get hooked! —Gena Hamshaw

Yum!! Skipping the fruit and adding coconut cream and cacao powder makes for a great high-fat breakfast. It's like an avocado chocolate thick shake :)

Sounds great - this would be good after a workout! I find avocado takes smoothies to the next level. It's like a thickshake!

I've been making the same smoothie forever and burnt the whole family out on it. This was a great alternative that's easy to make and full of healthy ingredients. Thanks for inspiring me to get out of my smoothie rut!

I was wondering if instead of mango you could use unsweetened coconut milk?

This was delicious. I am not a big banana fan (I think I burned out on them after years of that being my "breakfast"), so I put a beautiful, fresh mango in. It turned out wonderful, and I ate half of it early in the day and the other half later. I wasn't really all that hungry at dinner, so it's very filling and satisfying. My Vitamix turned those oats into such a silky beverage. THANK YOU!!!

Can you please list the total carbs in this and is it for 4 or for 1 person?
Gena H. July 23, 2013
It's for one person, Meryl. I'm not sure about the carbs -- you'd have to use a food tracking app to get that!
Beelberts July 14, 2013
Several things are listed twice, I am guessing this is an error?
Gena H. July 23, 2013
Yes, error. So sorry! It's fixed.

You have 1/2 avocado twice, does this mean use a whole or is this a mistake?
Gena H. July 23, 2013
It's a mistake -- fixed now!
nexu July 1, 2013
Does it serve 4 or does it serve 1?
Gena H. July 23, 2013
It serves 1, Nexu -- sorry for any confusion.
