I made this last night and my husband and I were both surprised at this recipe. We always thought vespers were 1:1 gin/vodka, and certainly not more vodka than gin. Looking at other recipes right now, it seems like the overwhelming opinion is that it's more gin that vodka (some even so far as 3 parts gin to 1 part vodka), plus lillet. I wonder why this one is so different?

Oui, Monsieur!

I would suggest using Tempus Fugit Kina L'avion D'or or Cocchi Americano instead of Lillet Blanc. The recipe of the Lillet blanc is different from the Kina Lillet James Bond originally used and no longer available. These two will make for a much more authintic and tastier drink.
