French salad (Francuska salata)

Despite the name is not from France.
French salad is an essential part of the festive table in Croatia,
fact is that everyone is preparing in their own way —anka

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 2 large potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup pickles, diced
  • 3 hard-boiled eggs,diced
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vineger or lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
Directions
  1. Cook potatoes and carrot for 10min, separately cook peas, let cool Dice hard-boiled eggs and pickles.
  2. Separately mix sour cream, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, salt and pepper. Gently stir all ingredients. Prepared salad put in the refrigerator to cool.

Excellent recipe. This is always a hit at our Christmas gatherings.

Finally a decent recipe for Francuska! I usually put diced ham into it, it's a pretty fitting addition. This recipe is superfamous all over Yugoslavia actually.

If you add meat to it, it's no longer francuska salata, it becomes ruska/Russian.

Hey there! Thanks for this recipe; I've eaten a really close version with some Croatian friends a long time ago, and here is the salad I remember! Lovely, just lovely!
