Ingredients
  • 3 ounces FEW Rye Whiskey (or any spicier rye)
  • 1 ounce Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth
  • .25 ounces Luxardo Maraschino Liqueu
  • 4 dashes lavender bitters
  • 2 lemon twists
Directions
  1. Place one of the lemon twists at the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add the bitters, maraschino, vermouth and whiskey.
  3. Top with cubed ice.
  4. Shake full blast for at least 20 seconds. You want to release the oils from the lemon twist.
  5. Twist the second lemon twist over a frozen martini glass and drop in.
  6. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass and serve.

Tastes more like a riff on -- or, really, an amalgamation of -- the manhattan and the old fashioned than the martinez. Note that this is a whopping four-ounce tipple. It's a pleasant drink but not a stand-out.
