Sage apple cheddar pizza

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • Saute (This stage can be done ahead if you like.)
  • 3 large tart and crisp apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2-3 shallots, minced
  • 6 tablespoons sage, chopped
  • olive oil
  • butter
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Assembly
  • 1 pizza crust (preferably homemade sourdough)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar, grated
Directions
  1. Saute (This stage can be done ahead if you like.)
  2. Pour a couple tablespoons of olive oil into a saute pan and add a couple tablespoons of butter to melt.
  3. Add shallots. Saute until soft but not brown.
  4. Add apples. Saute lightly for a just a few minutes so apples remain crisp.
  5. Add sage, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.

  2. Brush pizza crust lightly with olive oil. Spread apple mixture on top. Sprinkle with cheddar.
  3. Bake in a 450 degree oven until done.
