Author Notes

I have been experimenting with drinks. As a variation on a mint julep after I saw some odd ingredients for a bourbon and limoncello drink at a pub in North Adams MA I decided to experiment with sage and Maker's Mark. I like the way the proportions of my experiment have turned out. Hope you like it as well —Sagegreen

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon Apricot jam
  • 1 ounce limoncello
  • 3 ounces Maker's Mark bourbon
  • 5 ice cubes, cracked into chunks
  • 2 Fresh sage leaves
Directions
  1. Put 2 martini or whiskey glasses into the freezer to chill for at least 25 minutes.
  2. Whisk the limoncello and apricot jam together and then pour into a shaker.
  3. Add the Maker's Mark bourbon and cracked ice cubes.
  4. Shake vigorously for 30 shakes.
  5. Pour into the chilled glasses and finish with a sage leaf (give it a twist first to release the oil a bit). Cheers.

Sagegreen, I feel as if I haven't seen you on this site in ages! And as luck would have it I was just given a bottle of limoncello as a hostess gift and have sage in the garden! Thanks and good to hear from you!!
