It's probably my own pallet, but I taste tested after adding the raisins and hated the flavor (even though I typically like golden raisins - perhaps flame raisins would be better?). So, I took them back out and found the recipe significantly improved. I also did not add any additional sugar - the jam and sweet wine provide more than enough - and used lightly salted walnuts, which added some nice balance to such a sweet dish. I should also note that I used a lower sugar, smooth "fruit spread" that is sweetened with juice rather than cane sugar and found that lended plenty of sweetness. Blackberry wine was also sold out everywhere and I had kids at the table so I subbed in biodynamic dark grape juice and I don't think the dish suffered for it at all. Rave reviews from everyone at the Seder table.

Very easy recipe and tasty! We will see how the relatives like it tomorrow night. Also, there is no way you need any added sugar. Between the wine and the apricot jam, it is plenty sweet!

Delicious! I marinated the chopped apples in lemon juice to prevent oxidation. Started with the jam and added spices and ingredients from there like a dressing.
