This recipe is hands-off and easy--plus, with no added sugar, its about as healthy as any whole apple. —alex markel

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 7 large apples
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground allspice
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup water
Directions
  1. Core and chop apples into 4-6 pieces (no need to remove the skin)
  2. Add apples, spices, and water to crockpot
  3. Cook on "low" till soft (at least 4 hours). This is very forgiving.
  4. Blend all ingredients till pureed.
  5. Add back to crockpot and cook till reduced to desired consistency.
  6. Let cool and jar. Extra can be frozen to extend shelf life.
  7. Add to ANYTHING--frozen daquiris, turkey sandwiches, rugelach, cakes, pancakes, baked goods, marinades, or anything else you can dream up.
